OVER 600 SERVICES OFFERED AT WKPP HEALTH FAIR & BACK TO SCHOOL TREAT THIS MONTH

West Kingston Power Partners issued over 600 medical services at its 5th annual Health & Wellness Fair this year! Residents from the Western Kingston communities arrived as early as 7 am to benefit from general medicals, dental cleaning and extractions, pap smears, eye screening, pharmacy services and STI testing. The company also invited a group of reputable public and financial institutions, such as Sagicor, the Public Health Department, RGD, PICA and the National Council on Drug Abuse, to offer information regarding vital products and services.

The day’s highlights included greetings from The Hon. Desmond McKenzie, Minister of Local Government and Community Development and an extra special Back to School Treat for the children in the communities. WKPP treated children to a variety of rides and games, hot dogs, snow cones and popcorn, as well as a new school bag and stationery for each child to use in the upcoming school term.

This year WKPP celebrated five years of contributing to maintaining good health in Western Kingston. The Health Fair, hosted under the theme, “Increasing Access to Healthcare Services”, embodies the aim of this annual initiative, to ensure that adults and children receive quality care at no cost to them. WKPP’s community healthcare strategy is coordinated and executed under its Corporate Social Responsibility Portfolio where, in addition to affordable healthcare; the primary focus is sustainability. Our hardworking committee members, as well as extended employees within the company, manage this critical venture, to ensure implementation with utmost efficiency. WKPP invests annually in this worthwhile initiative because we understand that the prevalence of chronic and other types of diseases can pose a grave economic burden on the community.
