JEP/WKPP redefines Breast Cancer Education among staff with engaging facts, myths and trivia!

Did you know?

  • 9 out of 10 breast lumps are benign and not cancerous?
  • Breast cancer in men is usually detected under the nipple and the areola?
  • Early detection saves lives?

These are just a few facts which were shared among staff and the public in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Jamaica Energy Partners has contributed significantly to this worldwide initiative and, for over ten years, has donated to the Jamaica Cancer Society to increase awareness, fund breast cancer research and to support persons battling the gruesome disease. In 2017 JEP/WKPP also assisted two persons with the disease – Mrs Carol Harris and Ms Lavern Howell – and received reports that they are doing well and cancer free.

This year JEP and WKPP hosted its very own pink week from October 22-26, to remind staff and the public about the importance of supporting this initiative as well as to be more aware of its symptoms and the risks associated.
