14 May JEP Gives Back to Bellevue Mental Health Hospital
Often neglected in Jamaica is the concept of the importance of mental health; and by extension the mental health community. This community is considered marginalized due to the lack of resources necessary for improving this part of our society. Though there is room for much improvement, the Bellevue Mental Health Hospital does as much as it can to care for, protect and advocate for their patients.
In March the Social Work arm of the hospital treated fifty outpatients to meal packages and skin care items during what was recognized as “Social Work Month”. JEP sponsored gift baskets for this event, to celebrate the progress of the patients.
