Cecil Gordon

Cecil Gordon has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sector. He graduated from the University of Technology in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Power Engineering (Hons). He later completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Nova Southeastern University in 1998.

Cecil has served as the Director of Generation of Jamaica Energy Partners’ (JEP) and West Kingston Power Partners (WKPP) and has since been given the title of Chief Technical Officer. Cecil joined JEP in December 2000 as an Operation Engineer prior to being promoted to Plant Manager in September 2002 and subsequently to Director of Generation. Cecil was an integral member of the capacity expansion team that developed and implemented the Doctor Bird II project valued at US$56M. He was an instrumental member of the team, having been assigned responsibility as the Deputy Project Manager/Site Manager for the 65.5 MW expansion project, where he was part of the contracts negotiating team.


Prior to joining JEP, he worked with Jamaica Public Service (JPS) in the capacity of System Control Engineer, Project Engineer and Senior System Planning Engineer from 1990 to 2000.

Cecil is a member of Old Harbour Bay Community Development Association and is the currently a Technical Director of Jamaica Environment Trust, an NGO. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
