JEP & WKPP EMPLOYEES READ TO OVER 200 STUDENTS ON READ ACROSS JAMAICA DAY

Read Across Jamaica is an international literacy programme formed to foster a love of reading in children in Jamaica and the Diaspora.

Since 2013, in support of this programme, JEP and WKPP have been donating books to the schools in the Old Harbour Bay and West Kingston communities. To boost awareness around this initiative as well as our yearly contributions, the companies hosted book drives which encouraged staff to donate unused books.

JEP and WKPP believe that donating books and reading to children is essential to help them to develop a love of reading, which will empower them and facilitate their academic and personal development.

On May 8, 2018, members of the JEP/WKPP CSR committee delivered these books to the Denham Town Basic School; Denham Town Primary School; Blackwood Gardens Basic School and Old Harbour Bay Primary School. Representatives also took the time out to read to and interact with the students.
